During the Merchant Payment Ecosystem conference in Germany, which gathered nearly 500 acquirers, processors and suppliers of software and services for sales and service networks, eService took the second place in the global ranking of acquirers that develop mobile payment acceptance, thus becoming the highest rated company in this field in Europe.
This success is a form of recognition by the jury for the unprecedented contribution of eService to the development of mobile payments according to the IKO standard in the Polish market. Owing to the Company’s efforts, the number of points that accept IKO payments reached 66,000 within 12 months, whereas the number of transactions at the end of the year increased ten times compared to the first half of 2013. The success of IKO, which was influenced by the eService acceptance network resulted in the fact that 6 leading Polish banks reached a decision to join this standard of domestic mobile payment and introduce a common brand of payment tool that will make its debut in 2014.
For eService, this prize is another success that culminates the remarkably successful year 2013. The Company became the largest acquirer in Poland with a total of 52,000,000 transactions per month and a POS terminal network that exceeds 90,000 devices, as well as a market share exceeding 36%. Having become the largest acquirer in Central Europe, eService has reached a strategic decision to expand into foreign markets and will start its operations in the European market as early as in mid-2014. Additionally, the implementation of IKO is not the last word in mobile payment and mCommerce. The Company is working hard on implementing further payment standards so as to offer its customers a wide range of accepted methods of payment.
